Connecting Healthcare 2021

The “Connecting Healthcare” Conference aims to promote discussion and debate about happiness and innovation for the future of organizations, interspersing debate panels with national and international guests with relevant lectures on current topics in the context of digital transformation. Neuroscience occupies a prominent place at the event, bringing the scientific explanation of the way forward and what decisions to take as well as new approaches, supported by the special contribution of individuals from health, art, companies, science, among others.

JOSEPH LEDOUX (USA) – Keynote Speaker - "The evolving brain: past and future" - Director The Emotional Brain Institute, New York University, was born in 1949 in Louisiana (USA). He is Professor of Neuroscience, Psychology, Psychiatry, and Psychiatry at New York University. He directs the Emotional Brain Institute at this university and the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, is deputy director of the Max Planck-NYU Center for Language, Music, and Emotion and a member of the USA National Academy of Sciences. Author of the “Conscious Brain” books “Anxious, Synaptic Self” and “The Emotional Brain”, among others, he is also a singer and songwriter in the folk-rock band “The Amygdaloids”.

LEYMAH GBOWEE (LIBÉRIA) – Nobel Peace Prize (2011)

She is a Liberian peace activist, social worker and women's rights advocate. Founder of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa. She is currently Executive Director of the Women, Peace and Security Program at Columbia University's Earth Institute. Dr. Gbowee is the founder of the Liberia Reconciliation Initiative, and co-founder and former Executive Director of the Women Peace and Security Network Africa (WIPSEN-A). She is a founding member of the Women in Peacebuilding Network / West Africa Network for Peacebuilding in Liberia (WIPNET / WANEP). She is also Doctor Honoris Causa in Law.
